Elsden Consultancy Services (ECS) Ltd provides strategic technology, innovation and policy advice to clients from the business, academic and government sectors.

The founder, Dr Miles Elsden, has over 30 years of experience working as a leader in Technology, Innovation and Strategy including time as Chief Scientist in the UK Department for Transport and most recently as Professor of Technology, Industry and Public Policy at the University of York where he was and the Inaugural Director of a £50m+ interdisciplinary research centre focusing on the safe use of Robotics, Connected and Autonomous Systems in safety critical industries.

ECS combines expertise in Transport, Security, Systems Thinking, Risk, Decision Making and Uncertainty with with extensive technical knowledge across a broad range of ‘Deep Technologies’, including AI/ML, Digital Twins, IoT, Cyber, Quantum and Automation to provide a strategic perspective on science, technology and innovation. We deliver insightful advice on how to influence policy, identifying future risks/opportunities and solving operational challenge .across a range of technical disciplines and business areas. We can connect to wide network of contacts in government, industry and academia and acting as a credible voice with technology, policy and business stakeholders to identify and exploit opportunities for clients to work together to deliver real value.
